Ask us a question

How your first night works

Turn up a little early, check in, set up your gear in transition, ask anything you need, then race the course that matches your age and confidence level.

1. Choose your race

Start with a mini tri.

Bairnsdale and Sale are the easiest places to start, whether you are new to triathlon, racing with kids, or easing back in.

2. Bring the basics

Keep gear simple.

Swimmers, goggles, bike, helmet, runners, towel, drink bottle and clothes you can move in are enough to get started.

3. Arrive early

Give yourself 20-30 minutes.

That gives you time to register, hear the briefing, find transition and settle nerves before the first wave goes out.

4. Ask for help

You do not need to know everything.

Club members and volunteers can help with setup, course choice, timing questions and what to do in transition.
